DRIVING QUESTION:

Am I my digital me?

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Students will begin by doing a place-mat activity answering the question “Who Am I?”. The will learn what identity is through poetry, reflective writing and protocols.  Students will then dig deeper by discussing who the “digital me” is and what it means. They will write a letter to their future digital selves.  They will participate in a mentorship activity with Grade 11/12 students exploring “what I wish I had known” and spending time in reflection. They will watch a TED talk and discuss what drives their identity. Finally they will write their own obituary and create their “Who am I shoe”.

CONNECTIONS AND PERSPECTIVES:

This project seeks to transform the whole student by encouraging students to reflect and consider the decisions they are making.  It also makes them dig deeper into their identity in Christ.  Students will begin to see how our digital identities are not always authentic and can have both negative and positive consequences both short term and long term.
