DRIVING QUESTION:

How can I use art to show others who I am?

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Students will explore ways in which God reveals his invisible qualities through his creation and makes himself known (Romans 1:20). They will explore works by various artists, including masters and secondary art students, noticing and describing how we can learn about the artists through their works.  After learning and practicing various art techniques and media, students will create an art piece that represents who they are (eg. feelings, passions, loves, talents, heritage).  They will write an accompanying artist’s statement.  The projects will be celebrated at a gallery evening for invited guests.

CONNECTIONS AND PERSPECTIVES:

This project incorporates our God-centered worldview by reflecting on his voice and self-revelation in creation, and by celebrating the fact that we, as creators, are made in his image and are like him.
