Senior Pen-Pal Program

DRIVING QUESTION:

How do we share God’s love with the elderly?

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Students will be paired up (either individually or in small groups) with a senior from a local senior’s home to be pen-pals. At Christmas we will get together to do a craft.  In May we will meet again for tea.  The students will then work on writing about their pen-pal and making a portrait of them.  At the end of the June we will gift these to our senior friends.

CONNECTIONS AND PERSPECTIVES:

The students will be community builders and servant workers while making connections with seniors and helping to alleviate loneliness.
