PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Students will have background information on elements of a story and now conduct research or inquire about different forms of storytelling as a precursor to composing their own non-written story that they will present to an audience. For example they will compare origin stories from different cultures. They will do an interview with family members about their own traditions.  They will compose a story to be presented as a song, spoken word, dance, visual representation (carvings, art) and/or media. They will reflect on the process and also the importance of preserving traditions. A possible entry event is visiting a Museum of Anthropology.

This project will develop a sense of commitment for service and responsibility toward one another, our neighbourhood and our global community. It supports a respectful Christian foundation of belief where students from every culture, faith and belief system are welcome.
