PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Students will create a public art display that explores the issues of immigration and discrimination. They will learn to develop, critique and refine art and explore how public art tells a story by going into the community in an art walk and through conversation with a local artist. They will work through the issues surrounding immigration and discrimination in Canada and research personal stories to convey, through their art and written piece. They will display their work in locations around the community.

CONNECTIONS AND PERSPECTIVES:

Students will engage with our schools graduate profile and the community to learn and teach about their own and other’s stories. My hope is that students will better understand how to engage with the positive and negative aspects of our history and carry it into how they engage with others.
