DRIVING QUESTION:

What can I afford with the money I earn?

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Students will explore three job/career prospects: a job they hope for, a job they expect to have and a job they dream about. From the monthly income and through mathematical calculations, students explore and breakout a list of living expenses be a percentage of the monthly income. Through this project and the activities within, students get to develop a deeper understanding the quality of life afforded by a variety of jobs/careers. Students will have an opportunity to reflect on what could be their ideal career aspiration with respect to finance.

CONNECTIONS AND PERSPECTIVES:

Following through on the Biblical through-lines, students will be encouraged to be “servant workers: working actively to heal brokenness and bring joy.” Students will be encouraged to make positive choices that enhance physical, mental and spiritual health.
